Upcoming Día de San Antonio

I am very much looking forward to this year's annual
Día de San Antonio celebration in Los Sauces. The new
doors and memorial plaques will be dedicated at that
time. The new doors were financed by the
contributions of people who donated the funds in
memory of loved ones who were originally from Los
Sauces and are now deceased. I,myself, made a
contribution in memory of my mother, Olivama Salazar
de Valdez, who was born and raised in this village.
She dearly loved the church dedicated to San Antonio.
Now her name will be on the memorial plaque there
along with many other former Los Sauces villagers.
Several people with heritage ties to Los Sauces will be coming for this special event. (The Mass is on Saturday June 16th at 10:00 a.m.) Some have not been to the village in many years, and others are coming to the village for the first time. I plan on taking pictures and uploading them to this website after I return from my weekend in the San Luis Valley.
